Ingredients: 
¾ cup small chapulines
2 teaspoons salt crushed in a molcajete (mortar) or chilmolera
4 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
Juice of ½ lime
Preparation: 
Pick over the grasshoppers thoroughly to be sure there are no other small insects mixed in with them
Boil about 3 minutes. Set aside. If the grasshoppers are larger, boil them for 5 minutes and discard the long legs.
Mix garlic, salt, and lime juice.
Season the chapulines with this mixture and fry them.
Serve in tacos with a pasilla chile salsa or guacamole (optional).
