The flavors of Yucatan on display

The best of traditional Yucatán food can be enjoyed in the Santa Ana Market.

Residents and tourists have to pick from a delicious sweet lime soup, panuchos, cochinitapibil, turkey salbutes,papadzules, turkey and suckling pig stew, all with habanero chile salsas. Beverages include refreshing traditional drinks such as horchata or pitahaya-flavored water and alcoholic drinks produced locally such as aguardiente de henequen and xtabentún, a liqueur made from honey.


The Santa Ana Market was founded during the viceregal period by artisans and laborers. It is located in the Barrio of Santa Ana, an area that has been spared from urban transformations.
